Mail order marriage statistics keep making me happy, with around 12% of US men married to foreign ladies, and 75% of male users reporting that they met their partner online. I was excited to research this topic because I’ve recently noticed a new wave of interest in global dating, so I explored all the related aspects. My resources included the U.S. Department of State data, Pew Research Center, Statista, and many others. Find out mail order bride statistics on the industry, demographics, divorce rates, and much more in my new post!
Global trends & data of the mail order brides industry
It’s estimated that the matchmaking market will earn over $4 bn in 2025, and it’s not surprising that nearly 200 services are operating in the industry. Interestingly, almost 60 mln people were using dating sites in 2023 in America, and it’s expected that around 66 mln will be online daters by 2028, according to Statista data. Besides, over 50% of members on those platforms are millennials. It means that this generation is open to the benefits of technologies and is ready to incorporate them into their love search.
The scope of my findings led me to another question: which mail order bride sites are the most popular among foreign love seekers? I checked SimilarWeb and Sensor Tower and got the following mail order brides statistics:
- SakuraDate, Asian female audience – 419,405 monthly visitors
- SofiaDate, Slavic female audience – 235,176 monthly visitors
- LatiDate, Latin female audience – 101, 602 monthly visits
As you can see, SakuraDate with an Asian female audience wins the game, and, obviously, Filipinas are the most popular there, considering around 10,000 K-1 visas issued in 2024. While the mail order bride industry is booming and is projected to grow, the Asian niche is in the highest demand for now.

Mail order marriage success & divorce rates
Following my research, I wanted to discover how many mail order marriages end in divorce and what the success rate is. I looked for trusted information through the United States Census Bureau, Pew Research Center, Washington Post, etc, and want to share my findings with you:
- From 1967, the intermarriage rate rose from 3% to 17%; and 10% of all married individuals have a spouse of another ethnicity or race.
- 14% of infants in the USA are multiracial, which is a good aspect of a mail order bride success rate for men striving to have an overseas wife and kids.
- In 21% of households in the US, at least one of the partners was born in another country, and in 55% of cases, a woman was a foreigner.
- ⅕ of international marriages are registered with a Mexican partner, and such couples dominate in the Western states of America.
- The average age gap between a foreign immigrant wife and a US husband is a little more than 7 years.
- Mail order bride divorce rate in terms of median age for Asian women is around 44, and for Hispanics, 38 years old.
- 26% of married people in the USA state their partner follows a different religion.
- Nearly 25% of foreign spouses divorce their partner within 15 years, and around 8% return home from the US.
Taking into account the results of my research, the intermarriage overall rate in the USA has been significantly increasing over time. A wife is most likely to be a foreigner, and she may be 7 years younger than her husband, which is more than 2 years between American partners. When it comes to a foreign bride divorce rate, the 25% rate is way lower than the 43% of first marriages in the US ending in breakup within 15 years.
